Improving the efficiency of border management on the Vietnam-China

May 24, 2016, a conference to summarize five years of implementation of bilateral protocol on border demarcation, the Agreement on border management regulations and the Agreement on the gate and gate management rules on border world mainland Vietnam-China (referred to as three legal instruments on border) was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous Region of Guangxi (China).

Deputy Le Hoai Trung stressed this conference should focus on clarifying some of the contents include: a review of the outstanding results achieved in the management and protection of territorial boundaries by 3 legal instruments in last time; indicate the existence and recovery solutions to improve the quality, effectiveness and coordinate management and protection on land borders Vietnam-China, associated with the service of the development of exchanges, economic cooperation society in the border areas; identify the problems and challenges emerging threatens peace and stability of the border with Vietnam-China requires the two sides should strengthen cooperation to cope with.

At the conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Liu Got Civil emphasize the meaning, importance and the practical effects by 3 legal documents on land border of China-Vietnam brought in time too. According to statistics, the number of people of the two countries through the gate at the border of China and Vietnam reached about 23,000 unique visitors / day, 3-fold increase compared to 2010; border trade turnover per capita reached US $ 70 million / day, an increase of nearly 4 times higher than in 2010. Three legal instruments has opened a new page for the relationship between Vietnam and China, contribute to developing a comprehensive upgrade bilateral relations; the basis and grounds for border management and practical success of the peaceful settlement of disputes through consultations and negotiations.
